NOTICE OF BIDS WANTED
Sealed bids for furnishing f.o.b one fire truck and accessory equipment will be accepted by the Town of Murphy, North Carolina in the office of the Town Manager until 11:00 o'clock A.M. on January 28, 2020 at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Bid specification may be obtained at the Town Hall, 5 Wofford Street, Murphy, North Carolina.
Each bid must be accompanied by deposit equal to 5% of the net price bid. This deposit may consist of cash, or cashier’s check issued by or a certified check drawn on a Bank or Trust Company authorized to do business in North Carolina or on a Bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, payable to the Town of Murphy, or a 5% Bid Bond issued by any surety authorized to do business in North Carolina. This deposit will be retained as liquidated damages in the event the bidder fails to enter into a Contract for the equipment and bid is accepted.
The outside of the sealed envelope must be properly marked "Bid on Fire Equipment."
Bids to be on the basis of cash upon the final delivery and acceptance in accordance with the specifications for this equipment.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after bid closing date.
The Town of Murphy reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid it determines is in the best interest of the department. Bids or proposals should be mailed to the office of the Town Manager at P.O. Box 130, Murphy, N. C., 28906 or hand delivered to City Hall at 5 Wofford Street, Murphy, NC 28906.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on January 6, 2020 at 10:00 at Murphy Fire Department, # 1 Firehouse Ln., Murphy, NC 28906. The purpose of this pre-bid conference is to assure all manufacture sales representatives are clear on the specification and to answer any questions. This conference is mandatory if manufactures desire to bid on specified apparatus, NO EXCEPTIONS. Webinar type attendance is not acceptable.
