Barbara Hughes

Barbara Hughes was elected to Murphy Town Council in Nov. 2017. She studied education at Tri-Co Community College, Western Carolina University and Appalachian State University. During her 32 years with Cherokee County Schools she taught the Intensive Intervention Class for special needs students, created the Home Bound Instruction Program, and the Transportation for Special needs students. Mrs. Hughes also started the Special Olympics Program
