Murphy Fire Station, #1 Firehouse Lane. This facility was constructed in 2005 / 2006 as part of our strategic plan to enhance fire protection and improve insurance ratings. It contains 2 engines, 1 tanker, 1 aerial, 1 brush truck, 1 heavy rescue and support apparatus.
Murphy Fire Station #2, 125 Natural Springs Drive. This facility was constructed in 2000 on property donated by Dr. Barry and Paula Watson. This fire station was part of the strategic plan to lower insurance ratings. It contains 1 engine and 1 tanker.
Murphy Fire Station #3, 140 James A. Mulkey Drive. This was the former NC National Guard Amory. As the National Guard consolidated, this property was given to Cherokee County. Murphy Fire purchased a portion of this building as station #3 to enhance the fire protection capability in the east end of our fire district. This facility is located below Harrah’s Cherokee Casino / Hotel. It contains 1 engine, 1 aerial, support vechicles and trailers. This staion was acquired in May 2021.
The Murphy Fire Department was located at 21 Alpine Street Murphy, NC. This was the prior main station until August 6, 2006.
